Novel Merge

Install: drag the blue button onto your bookmarks bar (Ctrl+Shift+B shows the bar). Clicking it here does nothing; it works on other pages.

Use:

1. Open the first chapter and click the bookmark. A panel opens in the top right.
2. The text block it found is outlined in green (ad blocks inside it in red, left out), the next link in orange. If either is wrong, press Pick on its card and click the right thing on the page. While picking text, ↑ widens the selection to the surrounding block and ↓ narrows it again.
3. Press Start. Each page opens in a viewer on the left, with the captured text outlined in green and the link it will follow next in orange. The Captured pages list shows every page; click one to see exactly which text was taken from it. The .txt downloads when it's done. Stop ends early; Download saves what it has so far. Untick Show each page to work in the background instead.

For text you're allowed to copy: public-domain works, your own writing, or sites whose terms permit it. It follows the site's robots.txt and waits between requests. Sites that refuse to be shown in a frame are read in the background instead.
